The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon publishes articles from thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, physiologists, and pathologists. It features original articles and reviews on clinical advances and the theoretical background of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Case reports are published in the open access companion journal The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon Reports. The journal also publishes an annual Pediatric Cardiology open access supplement issue in cooperation with the German Society for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease.

How To Do It

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted. Cover letter must briefly outline the manuscript contents and the message the authors wish to convey, include any confidential information for the Editor, and give the name, location, and dates of any prior scientific meeting presentation.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 100 words. Abstract structure is not specified.
Manuscript Main text should be about 800 to 1000 words. Manuscript must be organized as Introduction, Technique Description, and Discussion. Manuscript must include at least three keywords chosen from the provided list.
References Reference list may contain a maximum of 5 references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first appearance, cited in square brackets, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, and list all authors if there are 6 or fewer or the first 3 followed by et al if there are more than 6.
Figures & Tables Submission may include a maximum of 5 figures and/or a video. Figures must be uploaded as separate files, and each table must be uploaded as a separate .doc or .docx file. Article must focus on the illustrations provided.
