Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must include the corresponding author’s affiliation and contact information, briefly explain the importance of the work and its suitability for the journal readership, confirm originality and exclusive submission, include previous reviewer comments if the manuscript was previously considered by another journal, note competing interests, and bear the corresponding author’s signature.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 200 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Main body text must not exceed 12,000 words, excluding tables, figures, and references. Manuscript must contain a title page, abstract, introduction, materials or subjects and methods, results, discussion including conclusion, references, acknowledgments, author contributions, competing interests, figure legends, tables, and figures. Manuscript must include an Author Contributions section, a funding section, one to four unique subject terms, and disclosure of any large language model use in the Methods section or another suitable section if no Methods section is available.
References References must not exceed 60. References must follow Vancouver format. In-text citations must be numbered consecutively from 1, references must be listed in numerical order of citation, list all authors when there are up to six and the first six followed by et al. when there are more than six, use Index Medicus journal title abbreviations, and provide first and last page numbers.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 7 tables or figures is allowed. Figures must not be embedded in the text and must be uploaded as separate files, and each table must be uploaded separately. Composite figures containing more than three individual figures count as two figures, tables must be editable, and all figures and tables must be labelled sequentially and cited in the text.

Review Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must provide the corresponding author's affiliation, contact information, and signature, briefly explain the importance of the work and its suitability for the journal readership, and confirm that the submission is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 200 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The main body text must not exceed 4,000 words, excluding the abstract, tables, figures, and references. The manuscript must include a title page, abstract, introduction, materials or subjects and methods, results, discussion including conclusion, references, acknowledgments, author contributions, figure legends, tables, and figures. The manuscript must include one to four unique subject terms and document any use of a large language model in the Methods section or another suitable section if no Methods section is available.
References The manuscript may include a maximum of 120 references. References must follow Vancouver format. References must be cited in the text as numbered citations starting at one and listed in numerical order, with all authors named for works with up to six authors and the first six followed by et al. for works with more than six authors.
Figures & Tables The manuscript may include a maximum of 7 tables or figures. Figures must not be embedded within the text and must be uploaded as separate files, and each table must be uploaded as a separate file. Tables must be editable and labelled sequentially with a title or caption, and figures must be labelled sequentially and cited in the text.
