Biogerontology is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to exploring the biological basis and mechanisms of ageing, with an aim of promoting healthy old age. The journal focuses on efforts to unravel and understand the process and prevention of ageing and age-related impairments, covering molecular and physiological biomarkers, evolutionary biology, neurobiology, and immunology related to ageing. It also publishes article collections on cutting-edge themes in biogerontology.

Review

Cover Letter A cover letter is required if a pre-submission enquiry for the Review has been accepted by the Editor or Section Editor. The cover letter must mention that the pre-submission enquiry for the Review was accepted by the Editor or Section Editor.
Abstract An abstract is required for Review submissions. The abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Review articles should include an author contribution statement identifying who had the idea for the article, who performed the literature search and data analysis, who drafted or critically revised the work, and a disclosure statement, and the manuscript must document any LLM use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section and include relevant declarations under the heading "Statements and Declarations".
References References must be cited in the text by name and year in parentheses. The reference list must include only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication, with DOIs given as full DOI links whenever available and journal names abbreviated according to the ISSN List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, and large figures should be submitted separately only if the manuscript file size causes upload problems. Tables and figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in consecutive numerical order, each table must have a caption, each figure must have a concise caption included in the manuscript text file, and permission evidence must be included for any previously published figures, tables, or text passages.
