Biology of Sport is the official journal of the Institute of Sport – National Research Institute in Warsaw, Poland. Established in 1984, it is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published quarterly in electronic format and covers basic and applied sciences in sport, including sports and exercise physiology, sports genetics, training and testing, sports performance and analysis, and other biological aspects related to sport.

Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must be signed by all authors and include statements on the originality of the article and permission to publish it in the journal.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
Manuscript Original Article manuscript must not exceed 3800 words excluding the abstract, references, tables, and figures. Manuscript should be organized into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and References. Manuscript must include up to 6 keywords and disclose any use of AI-assisted technologies, with writing assistance described in the acknowledgments and data collection, analysis, or figure generation described in the methods.
References Original Articles are limited to 40 references. References must follow the United States National Library of Medicine format used in Index Medicus. References must be numbered consecutively in order of appearance and cited in the text using numbers in square brackets.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 8. Tables should be prepared on separate sheets and figures must be supplied as separate files. Figures and tables must have self-explanatory titles or legends, data shown in them should not be repeated in the text, and figures must be cited in consecutive order.
