Original Investigations

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 275 words, including numbers, abbreviations, and symbols. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include purpose, methods, results, and conclusions.
Manuscript Original Investigations must include Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. The title page must include a title of no more than 150 characters and a running title limited to 45 characters, the article must include 4 to 6 keywords in alphabetical order that do not repeat terms from the title, and the Methods section must include AI tool disclosure when applicable.
References Original Investigations must not include more than 70 references. Vancouver style. References must be numbered in order of citation, all references must appear in the text, in-text citations must be in parentheses, all book references must include page numbers, and if fewer than 7 authors are listed in a reference, all authors should be listed.
Figures & Tables No Sweat Submissions are limited to eight total figures and tables combined. Tables must be uploaded as separate files, and each figure must be saved as a separate file without captions. Original Investigations must not present the same data in both tables and figures, and figures and tables must prominently display sample size information.

Symposia papers from ACSM Annual Meeting must normally be received before December 1 of the year of presentation. Accepted open access articles are published immediately upon publication online. NIH-submitted accepted manuscripts are transmitted shortly after acceptance. The journal states that only the top 20% of submissions are sought within scope.
