Biomarker Research is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published, address any journal policy issues, declare potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, and confirm the work has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions, and Research articles reporting health care interventions on human participants must also include a Trial registration section with registration number and date, adding 'retrospectively registered' when applicable.
Manuscript Manuscript must include a title page and the sections Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and a Declarations section containing Ethics approval and consent to participate, Consent for publication, Availability of data and materials, Competing interests, Funding, Authors' contributions, and Acknowledgements, with 'Not applicable' used where a declaration section is irrelevant. Manuscript must include three to ten keywords, a list of abbreviations if abbreviations are used, an Availability of data and materials statement, competing interests, funding, authors' contributions, acknowledgements, and documentation of any Large Language Model use in the Methods section or another suitable section if no Methods section is available.
References References must use Vancouver style. Web links and URLs must be cited with a reference number and included in the reference list in full with the site title, full URL, and access date, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and dataset identifiers including DOIs must be given as full URLs.
Figures & Tables Tables shorter than one page can be placed within the manuscript, tables longer than one page can be placed at the end of the document, figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript rather than in the graphic file, and figures must be uploaded separately in the order cited. Figures and tables must be numbered in sequence, multi-panel figures must be submitted as a single composite file, tables must not be embedded as figures or spreadsheet files, and tables must be created using the word processor's table object.

Figures and tables must be numbered in the order cited, multi-panel figures must be submitted as a single composite file, tables must be created using the table object rather than embedded as figures or spreadsheet files, and reviews must use numbered footnotes in text with table footnotes indicated by superscript lower-case letters or asterisks for significance values.

References References must not exceed 12. References must follow Vancouver style. Web links and URLs must be numbered and included in the reference list in full with the site title, URL, and access date, and footnotes must not consist solely of a citation or include bibliographic details.
Figures & Tables Correspondence may include a maximum of two figures or two tables, or one figure plus one table. Tables shorter than one page may be placed in the manuscript, tables longer than one page may be placed at the end of the document, and figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript rather than in the graphic file. Footnotes must be used instead of endnotes and must not contain figures or tables.
