Submission Instructions

Biomaterials Research accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for submission. The cover letter must include the paper title, a brief summary of the main point, a statement that the material is not published or under consideration elsewhere and that all authors approved the journal's Publication Ethics policies, names email addresses and ORCID IDs for all authors with one corresponding author identified, and disclosure of any AI-assisted technologies used.

Manuscript The manuscript must be under 10,000 words. The body text must include Title, Authors and their affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, References, Figures and Tables, and Supplementary Materials, with brief informative subheadings and a Materials and Methods section detailed enough to allow replication. The manuscript must include Keywords and must note any use of AI-assisted technologies in the Acknowledgments section.
References Research Articles may include up to 50 references. References must use a numbered citation style with citations in square brackets. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first citation, included in a single reference list covering the main text figure and table legends and Supplementary Materials, list all authors by initials and last names except that works with eleven or more authors should list the first ten followed by 'et al.', and include DOIs when available.
Figures & Tables Research Articles may include up to 10 figures and/or tables. The manuscript must include a Figures and Tables section, but no explicit rule states whether figures and tables must be embedded or uploaded separately at initial submission.
