Original Article

Cover Letter AI use must be disclosed in the cover letter. Cover letter must disclose any use of AI.
Abstract Original Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be 250 words maximum. Abstract must be a single unstructured paragraph with no subheadings.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 5000 words excluding references and figure legends. Original Article must be organized as Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Tables, and Legends to Figures. Manuscript must include a graphical abstract and include statements for supplementary material, funding, acknowledgements, author contributions, ethics, conflict of interest, and data availability before the references, and any AI use must also be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References Reference list must not exceed 50 references. References must be arranged in numerical order, cited in square brackets on the line, and for works with more than four authors only the first three authors should be listed followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include no more than 8 tables and/or figures in total. Graphical abstracts and supplementary data must be uploaded as separate files, while figure legends should appear after the reference list and alt text should be placed directly under the relevant figure legend in the main manuscript. Tables must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and include a brief descriptive title, and all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs must include alt text.
