Submission Instructions

Characterization and Application of Nanomaterials accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Article

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted as a separate file. Cover letter should briefly explain the research standpoints, findings, and significance and must declare any corresponding preprint deposition with associated accession numbers or DOIs.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be a single paragraph of about 200–250 words maximum. Abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph.
Manuscript Manuscript must include Introduction, Materials and methods, and Results and discussion sections, with the Introduction about 1/2 page in length. Keywords are required for most article types, conflict of interest and funding details must be stated when applicable, and Articles with more than one author must include a short author contributions paragraph.
References References use a numbered citation style with in-text citation numbers in square brackets. References must be numbered in order of appearance, listed individually at the end, and include DOI and URL where available.
Figures & Tables Figures must be placed in the main text near the first time they are cited. All figures and tables must be cited in the main text, figures should be labeled consecutively as Figure with captions underneath, and table footnotes should appear below the table.
