Research Articles

Cover Letter A short cover letter is required. The cover letter must outline the relevance and importance of the work and confirm that every author has been informed about the submission and agreed to the submitted version.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 200 words. The abstract structure is not specified.
Manuscript Research Articles are typically 2500–5600 words in total. Research Articles must include Introduction, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and a concise Experimental Section and/or Computational Methods. The manuscript must include 5–7 keywords with 2–3 taken from the Keyword Catalogue list, a conflict of interest statement, a graphical abstract consisting of 50–60 words plus an accompanying graphic, and transparent disclosure of any AI-generated content tool use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References References must be cited as numbered inline square-bracket citations in the order of citation, with each reference number corresponding to only one literature citation.
Figures & Tables Research Articles typically include 3–8 display items. Figures, schemes, tables, and their captions must be embedded in the manuscript at the appropriate positions in the text rather than placed at the end. If a figure or scheme contains multiple panels they must be combined into a single embedded image, and each table must be created using Word table tools rather than as a graphic.

Abstract Abstract is required for Reviews. Abstract must be no more than 200 words.
Manuscript Reviews are typically 5600–14000 words in total. Reviews should be divided into appropriate sections and must include an Introduction, discussion of recent literature in subsections as appropriate, a Summary and Outlook, Acknowledgements, a conflict of interest statement, and a reference section. Reviews must include 5–7 keywords with at least 2–3 selected from the Keyword Catalogue list, graphical abstract text of 50–60 words with an accompanying graphic, a passport-style photo measuring 3.2×4.5 cm for the main contributing author or authors, a short biography of no more than 100 words for the main contributing author or authors, and transparent disclosure of any AI-generated content tool use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
