Climacteric

Climacteric is the official journal of the International Menopause Society and publishes peer-reviewed original research and reviews on menopause, climacteric, and mid-life health. Founded in 1998 and published bimonthly, it covers aging in women, endocrine changes, menopausal symptoms and treatments, hormone replacement and alternative therapies, lifestyles, and counselling and education of peri- and postmenopausal women. The journal also features invited reviews, editorials, guidelines, position statements, and commentaries.

Original Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Original Research Articles must include a structured abstract. The abstract must be fewer than 200 words. The abstract must be structured. The structured abstract should cover purpose, materials and methods, results, discussion, and conclusions in that order.
Manuscript Original Research Articles must be 3000 words or fewer. The manuscript should be organized in the order title page, abstract, plain language summary, keywords, main text with introduction, methods, results, and discussion, acknowledgments, declaration of interest statement, references, appendices as appropriate, tables with captions, figures, and figure captions. The manuscript must include a plain language summary of no more than 250 words, 3–10 keywords, a word count, a disclosure statement, funding details, and acknowledgment of any AI use in the paper.
References Original Research Articles must have 50 references or fewer. References must follow NLM style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in square brackets, and listed at the end in numerical order.
Figures & Tables Original Research Articles must include two or three tables and figures. Figures should be saved separately from the text. Tables must be supplied as editable files.
