Abstract required No more than 250 words. unstructured
Manuscript No more than 8,000 words. The main text must use the sections Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, and Discussion. The manuscript must include a data availability statement, a conflict of interest statement, a funding statement, ethics and consent statements, acknowledgements, a patient consent statement, permission to reproduce material from other sources, and CRediT contributor roles.
References No more than 75 references. Publicly available datasets must be fully referenced with an accession number or unique identifier such as a DOI.
Figures & Tables No more than 10 figures and no more than 10 tables. Tables must be placed at the end of the main text, and figures may be included in the manuscript or submitted separately at first submission. Figures and tables must be numbered and referenced in the text, figure legends must be included in the manuscript file, figures must have alt text in the manuscript, and tables must be editable and not embedded as image files.
