The manuscript should be divided into Title page, Abstract, lay summary and up to six keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Funding, Conflict of interest, References, Figure legends, Appendices, Tables and Figures, and it must include a graphical abstract. The manuscript must include a lay summary of no more than 250 words consisting of one sentence summary and two bullet points of key findings, up to six keywords, a graphical abstract, and a full explanation of any artificial intelligence use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
