Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter should be included with relevant information about the manuscript. The cover letter should include relevant information such as originality, authorship, relevance of the topic, and any use of AI-assisted technologies.
Abstract Original Articles must include structured abstracts in both English and Spanish. The English abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Introduction and objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Articles must not exceed 5000 words including the abstract, text, references list, and figure legends, excluding tables. The body text must include Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Original Articles must include 3 to 10 keywords, a central illustration, a bilingual table of up to 6 abbreviations, key points with the headings 'What is known about the topic?' and 'What does this study add?' in no more than 200 words total, and a 'Statement on the Use of Artificial Intelligence' section before the references when applicable.
References References must follow American Medical Association format. References must be listed in numerical order of first appearance and cited in the text as superscript numerals.
Figures & Tables Figures must not be included in the manuscript file, and figure legends must be included at the end of the manuscript file. Original Articles must include a central illustration.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter should be included. The cover letter should include relevant information about the manuscript such as originality, authorship, and relevance of the topic, and should describe any use of AI-assisted technologies.
Abstract A non-structured abstract in English and Spanish is required. The abstract must not exceed 200 words. The abstract must be non-structured.
Manuscript Review Articles must not exceed 7000 words including the abstract, text, references list, and figure legends, excluding tables. Review manuscripts should describe the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data. The manuscript must include 3 to 4 keywords, a central illustration, a bilingual table of abbreviations with no more than 8 frequently used abbreviations, figure legends at the end of the manuscript file, and a 'Statement on the Use of Artificial Intelligence' section before the references when applicable.
References References must follow American Medical Association format. References must be listed numerically in the order first cited, identified in the text with Arabic numerals in superscript or parentheses, use standard journal abbreviations, and be submitted as standard text rather than footnotes.
Figures & Tables Figures must not be included in the manuscript file, figure legends must be included at the end of the manuscript file, and each table must be provided on a separate page. Review Articles must include a central illustration, and figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals in the order of their first appearance in the text.

Scientific Letters

References References must not exceed 6. References must follow American Medical Association format. References must be numbered in the order first cited and presented in superscript as standard text rather than footnotes.
Figures & Tables No more than 2 figures and/or tables may be included. Figures must not be included in the manuscript file, and figure legends must be placed at the end of the manuscript file. Scientific Letters may include supplementary videos only.

Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 800 words. The letter must contain relevant information related to an article previously published in Revista Espanola De Cardiologia and must not include original data. The manuscript must include a title in Spanish and English of less than 150 characters including spaces, and any AI disclosure statement must appear in a section entitled 'Statement on the Use of Artificial Intelligence' before the references list.
