Clinical Cancer Research accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Original Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is not required but authors are strongly encouraged to upload one. Any use of AI to produce new text, images, or other material for the manuscript must be described in detail in the cover letter.
Abstract An abstract is required.
Manuscript Initial submissions do not have strict length restrictions, and the methods section is excluded when calculating manuscript length. Manuscript should include Title Page, a 150-word translational relevance statement on a separate page before the abstract, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods or Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, and a Data Availability subsection at the end of Methods. Manuscript must include a 150-word translational relevance statement, a conflict of interest disclosure on the title page, an AI-use declaration in the acknowledgments and manuscript as applicable, a Data Availability Statement, and a Code Availability Statement when custom code was used.
References References must be numbered in order of first mention in the text, cited in the text by number only, and list the first 6 authors followed by "et al." when there are more than 6 authors.
Figures & Tables For initial submission, figures should be on the same page as the legend either at the end of the manuscript file or embedded in the text near the figure callout, and supplementary data should be uploaded separately. Each figure must have a legend, figures and tables must be cited and numbered in the order they appear, and figure legends must include the number of technical and biological replicates.

Abstract Abstract requirements are not specified.
Manuscript Initial submissions do not have strict length restrictions, and the methods section is excluded when calculating manuscript length. The manuscript should include Introduction, Materials and Methods or Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, and a Data Availability subsection at the end of Materials and Methods. The title page must include the word count, total number of figures and tables, and a conflict of interest statement, and any use of generative artificial intelligence or human-assisted editing services must be declared in the acknowledgments or other appropriate manuscript section.
References References must be numbered in order of first mention in the text, cited in the text by number only, and list the first 6 authors followed by "et al." when there are more than 6 authors.
Figures & Tables For initial submission, figures should appear on the same page as the legend either embedded near the figure callout or placed at the end of the manuscript file, and authors are strongly encouraged to upload a single manuscript file containing the text and all display items. Each figure must be numbered in text order and accompanied by a legend, and every table must have a descriptive title and enough explanatory information to be understood without reference to the text.
