Original Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must briefly summarize the submitted work, describe the study, state that all authors approved it, and disclose any competing interests.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be 150-300 words. The abstract must be continuous and unstructured. The abstract must not contain subsections such as Objectives, Methods, Results, or Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must be divided into Abstract, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Funding, Availability of data and materials, Authors' contributions, Ethics approval and consent to participate, Patient consent for publication, Competing interests, Authors’ information, Use of artificial intelligence tools when applicable, References, Figure legends, and Tables. The first page must include 5-10 key words, and the manuscript must include all declaration sections at the end with 'Not applicable' under any nonrelevant heading and a Use of artificial intelligence tools section only when AI tools are used.
References References must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text by number in parentheses. References must list the first 9 authors as they appear, include only the first 10 authors followed by et al. when there are more than 10, use NLM Title Abbreviation for journal titles, and give inclusive page numbers.
Figures & Tables Figure legends must be included in the text document separate from figure files, and each table must be submitted in a separate Word file. Figure legends must include a title and brief description, microscopy legends must state image type and magnification or scale bar length, graph axes must be labeled, and significance indicators and error bars must be explained in the legends where applicable.

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must briefly summarize the work and state that it is an original study presenting novel work and has been approved by all authors.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be 150-300 words. Abstract must be continuous and unstructured. Abstract must not contain reference numbers.
Manuscript Review article must include a numbered Contents section immediately after the abstract, may use sections and subheadings according to the subject matter, and must include Acknowledgements, Funding, Availability of data and materials, Authors' contributions, Ethics approval and consent to participate, Patient consent for publication, Competing interests, References, Figure legends, and Tables, with Authors' information optional and a Use of artificial intelligence tools section only when AI tools are used. First page must include 5-10 key words and the manuscript must include all declarations headings even when not relevant, using 'Not applicable' for any nonrelevant section.
References References must be numbered consecutively in order of citation, cited in the text by number in parentheses, use NLM journal title abbreviations, list the first 9 authors as they appear, and when a reference has more than 10 authors include only the first 10 followed by et al.

Tables must be labeled with Roman numerals and include a short title, and figure legends must begin with a brief title for the whole figure followed by a short description of each panel or part.
