Therapeutic Advances in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is an international peer-reviewed journal which considers manuscripts on the pathophysiology and treatment of diseases affecting the respiratory system and critically ill patients. The journal welcomes unsolicited article proposals. All articles are listed on PubMed. Effective January 1, 2026, the journal will transition to a hybrid publishing model.

Cover Letter A cover letter must be provided. The cover letter should explain why the manuscript is suitable for publication and must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or submission by a non-author on behalf of the authors.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 300 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract headings must be Background; Objectives; Design; Methods; Results; Conclusion; and Registration (if applicable).
Manuscript The manuscript should be up to 6000 words excluding tables, figure legends, and references. The manuscript must include the abstract between the title and main body and end with a section headed 'Statements and Declarations' after the Acknowledgements and Author Contributions sections if applicable. Include a minimum of 2 keywords after the abstract, and an optional plain language summary may be submitted separately from the manuscript text.
References References must follow the Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in corresponding citations.
Figures & Tables Figures and images must be uploaded. Figures must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text.
