Submission Instructions

Current Opinion In Critical Care is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Article

Title Page Include a title page within the manuscript file listing the article title, all authors and affiliations, and full contact details for the corresponding author (phone and email), plus disclosure of funding sources (e.g., NIH, Wellcome Trust, HHMI, others).
Abstract Provide a structured abstract of no more than 200 words with the subheadings Purpose of review, Recent findings, and Summary. Do not include references, and list 3–5 keywords.
Key Points Include 3–5 key bullet points after the main text, with each bullet limited to a single sentence summarizing the article.
Main Manuscript Headings Organize the manuscript with an Introduction, a headed body with titled paragraphs, and a Conclusion. The text should be approximately 2,500 words, double-spaced, and avoid placing a subheading directly beneath a full heading.
Reference Format Use Vancouver numeric style with in‑text citations in square brackets. List the first three authors then 'et al.' (unless four or fewer). Mark key references from the last 12–18 months with one or two asterisks and include brief annotations.
Figures Upload figures as separate files (JPEG, TIFF, EPS, PPT, or Word) at 300 dpi or higher; do not embed in the manuscript. Provide titles and legends in the manuscript after the references and use Arial/Helvetica font size 7 for labels.
Tables Upload tables as separate files and cite them in the text; do not embed within the manuscript. Each table should have an appropriate title.
Additional Documents Include an Acknowledgements section with three separate statements: Acknowledgements, Financial support and sponsorship, and Conflicts of interest (state 'none' if not applicable). Optional supplementary files and an optional video abstract (≤100 MB) may be submitted for online hosting.
