Endocrine Practice

Endocrine Practice is the flagship journal of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. It is a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal publishing clinical information on the treatment of diabetes, nutrition and obesity, thyroid disease, bone and parathyroid disease, lipid and cardiovascular health, and pituitary, gonad, adrenal, and neuroendocrine disorders. The journal aims to enhance the clinical knowledge, treatment, and management of pediatric and adult endocrine diseases and publishes original research, clinical trials, reviews, commentaries, editorials, and AACE clinical guidance documents.

Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required for Original Articles. Cover letter must explain how the manuscript is innovative, provocative, timely, and of interest to a broad audience, and must list papers on related topics by any of the authors that were published within the past year, are in review, or are in press.
Abstract Abstract is required for Original Articles.
Manuscript Manuscript must be restricted to 3,500 words. Manuscript must include an abbreviation list and separate highlights consisting of 3–5 Teaching Points bullets totaling no more than 150 words plus a Clinical Relevance summary of no more than 50 words, and it must include a declaration of generative AI use when applicable.
References Original Articles must include no more than 40 references. References must follow AMA style, 11th edition. References must be cited in the text with superscript numbers and listed in numerical order of appearance, with all authors named unless there are more than 6, in which case the first 3 are followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Original Articles must include no more than 10 figures or tables in total. Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the text, while tables may be placed at the end of the text file. Each figure must have a legend and be clearly labeled, and each table must appear on a separate page with a title.

References Letter may include no more than three references. References must follow AMA style. References must be cited in the text with superscript numbers and listed in the order of appearance, listing all authors unless there are more than six, in which case the first three should be followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Letter may include no more than one table or figure. Figures must be uploaded as separate files and not embedded in the text. Each figure must have a legend, and each table must have a title.

References Commentaries may include up to 15 references. References must follow American Medical Association Manual of Style, 11th edition. References must be cited in the text with superscript numbers and listed in citation order, with all authors named unless there are more than 6 authors, in which case the first 3 should be followed by et al.
