Clinical Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for submission except for solicited submissions. The cover letter must state the paper’s significance, novelty, relevance to daily practice, incremental value over existing literature, article strengths, why it fits the journal, designate the corresponding author, and include ICMJE statements that all authors approved the manuscript and disclosed conflicts of interest or none exist.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured in five paragraphs. The abstract headings must be Background, Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The main text must be structured as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions. The manuscript must include 3 to 6 keywords, a list of abbreviations and acronyms, an Impact on daily practice section of no more than 125 words or 900 characters including spaces, and disclosure of any AI or AI-assisted technologies used and their purpose in the manuscript.
References References must be cited as consecutive superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, placed after sentence punctuation, and formatted with all authors listed when there are 6 or fewer authors or the first 3 authors followed by et al when there are 7 or more authors.
Figures & Tables During original submission, figures must be uploaded within the main manuscript after the text and tables, and tables should be included at the end of the main manuscript. Figures and tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals in order of mention in the text, each table must be on a separate page, and tables should not exceed one page in Word.
