Abstract An abstract is required. The structured abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The total manuscript length must not exceed 4,500 words, and initial submissions must not exceed this limit by more than 40%. The text must include Introduction, Materials and Methods or Patients and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Funding statement, Conflict of interest statement, and Author contribution statement, and abbreviations and acronyms used in the text must be listed at the beginning of the article before the introduction. The manuscript must include 3–6 keywords, and a graphical abstract is required for resubmission but not for initial submission.
References References must not exceed 40. Citations must strictly adhere to the AMA Manual of Style. References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text using Arabic numerals in parentheses and listed numerically, and references with more than six authors must list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables combined must not exceed 7. Tables must be included in the manuscript file as part of the text rather than as images, and figures for peer review must be embedded at the end of the word processing file before the references or uploaded separately as low-resolution images. Each figure must contain no more than 8 parts.
