Research Articles
Cover Letter
A cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published, address any journal policy issues, declare potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved submission, and state whether the article reports basic or preclinical research with justification of its clinical relevance or translational link.
Abstract
An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Trial registration.
Manuscript
Manuscript should include a title page, Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, a Declarations section with all required subheadings, and three to ten keywords. Manuscript must include three to ten keywords, a Declarations section retaining any non-applicable headings with 'Not applicable,' a Competing Interests section, an Availability of data and materials statement, and disclosure of any large language model use in the Methods or another suitable section.
References
References must follow Vancouver reference style. Only published or in-press articles, clinical trial registration records, abstracts, preprints, and public web resources may be cited, unpublished abstracts/data/personal communications must be excluded from the reference list, journal abbreviations must follow Index Medicus/MEDLINE, and URLs must appear as full references with site title, full URL, and access date.
Figures & Tables
Figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript rather than in the graphic file, tables shorter than one page may be placed in the manuscript text while longer tables may be placed at the end, and figures must be uploaded separately in the order cited. Multi-panel figures must be submitted as a single composite file, tables must be created with a table object rather than embedded as figures or spreadsheets, and figure or table footnotes must follow the specified marker conventions.

Manuscript
Manuscript must not exceed 5,000 words excluding the abstract, acknowledgments, figure legends, and references. Manuscript must include Background, Main text, Conclusions, and a Declarations section with the required subheadings. Manuscript must include three to ten keywords, a list of abbreviations if abbreviations are used, and Declarations subheadings for Ethics approval and consent to participate, Consent for publication, Availability of data and materials, Competing interests, Funding, Authors' contributions, and Acknowledgements, with large language model use disclosed in the Methods or another suitable section if applicable.
References
References are limited to a maximum of 60. References must follow Vancouver style. Web links and URLs in the reference list must be given in full including the site title, full URL, and date accessed, and dataset citations should include a persistent identifier such as a DOI.
Figures & Tables
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are limited to a total of 7 figures or tables. Tables shorter than one page may be placed within the manuscript, while larger tables may be placed at the end of the document and figures must be uploaded separately in the order cited. Figure titles and table titles must not exceed 15 words, figure legends and table legends must not exceed 300 words, figure legends must appear in the manuscript rather than the image file, and tables must not be embedded as figures.
