Abstract
A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript
Original Articles must not exceed 3500 words including Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion. Manuscript must include the sections Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include up to five keywords, a CRediT author contribution statement, a conflict of interest statement, funding disclosure, and transparent disclosure of qualifying AI-generated content use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References
Original Articles may include a maximum of 50 references. References must use AMA style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of appearance and cited in the text as superscript numbers, with each citation matched to a reference list entry and each reference cited in the text.
Figures & Tables
Original Articles may include a maximum of eight figures or tables, with additional figures allowed only as supplementary material for online-only publication at the editor's discretion. Approximate positions of tables and figures must be indicated in the text, figure files and table files must be uploaded separately, and supplementary material must be uploaded as a separate file type and clearly labeled as supplementary on the title page and in citations throughout the manuscript. The manuscript text including table and figure captions must be submitted as one file, and tables must be submitted as editable files rather than scanned or image files.
