European Urology Focus is the official journal of the European Association of Urology and covers the full spectrum of urology, including oncology, functional and reconstructive urology, laparoscopy, robotic surgery, endourology, female urology, andrology, paediatric urology, and sexual medicine. The journal publishes basic and translational research, original research articles, systematic reviews, Point of Focus debates, Clinical Trial Updates, Grey Zone articles, Clinical Consultation Guide pieces, and Mini-Reviews. Launched in 2015 as a companion title to European Urology, it publishes 6 electronic-only issues per year and is indexed in PubMed.

Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for Original Articles. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background and Objective, Methods, Key Findings and Limitations, and Conclusions and Clinical Implications, and it must be followed by a Patient Summary of two or three short plain-English sentences for a nonmedical audience.
Manuscript Manuscript must be no longer than 2750 words total including the abstract, with body text limited to 2500 words. Manuscript must be organized as Introduction, Materials (Patients) and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions, and it must clearly state the objective or hypothesis, design and methods, main results, discussion in context of the literature with study limitations, and conclusions. Manuscript must include a 'What does the study add?' section of 3 to 4 sentences and a take home message of two or three sentences not exceeding 40 words, uploaded separately or included at the end of the manuscript text.
References References are limited to 40.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures are limited to five in total, and each figure may have a maximum of four subparts. Additional tables, figures, or appendices must be submitted as supplementary material, and the take home message may be uploaded as a separate file or included at the end of the manuscript text. Each figure may have a maximum of four subparts.
