Experimental Cell Research is a cell biology journal emphasizing molecular approaches to cell biology and aiming to provide significant insights into the organisation and activity of cells in tissue culture assays and animal models, including models that recapitulate key aspects of human diseases. It publishes research using mammalian and non-mammalian model organisms and includes regular research articles and review articles in regular and special issues.

Regular Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required for Regular Articles. The abstract must not exceed 200 words.
Manuscript Regular Articles usually do not exceed 15,000 words. The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. The submission must include 1 to 7 English keywords, 3 to 5 article highlights in a separate editable file, and a generative AI declaration section before the references if AI tools were used in manuscript preparation.
References References must be cited using numbers in square brackets and listed in the order they appear in the article.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables must be submitted as editable text. Tables must include captions and be cited in the text, and figures must be numbered in order, cited in the text, and accompanied by captions explaining any symbols or abbreviations.
