Health Policy and Technology is the official journal of the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine and focuses on past, present and future health policy and the role of technology in clinical and non-clinical national and international health environments. The journal publishes relevant, timely and accessible articles and commentaries for policy-makers, health professionals, health technology providers, patient groups and academia interested in health policy and technology.

Original Research Articles

Cover Letter A separate cover letter is required. The cover letter must include the manuscript title, the manuscript file name or names and software version used, the names of all sponsors and any direct or indirect financial relationships with them, and if applicable a statement that publication was not contingent on sponsor approval or censorship.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be 250 words or less. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 4,500 words. The body should normally include Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and References. Highlights are mandatory and must be submitted as a separate file with 3 to 5 bullet points, and a generative AI declaration must be added to the core manuscript if applicable.
References The manuscript must not have more than 40 references. Vancouver References with six or fewer authors must list all authors, and references with more than six authors must list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures, figure legends, and tables must be submitted as separate documents. Each illustration must have a caption, and illustrations must be numbered in sequence.

Review Articles

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words or less, and a public interest summary must be 150 words or less. Unstructured. The public interest summary must appear at the end of the abstract under the heading "Public Interest Summary".
Manuscript Review Articles are limited to 3,500 words. The body should normally include Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and References. Highlights are mandatory, the highlights file must contain 3 to 5 bullet points, and an AI declaration must be added at the end of the core manuscript if generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in writing.
References Vancouver. References with six or fewer authors must list all authors, while references with more than six authors must list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Figures, figure legends, and tables must be submitted as separate documents. Each figure must have a caption, and illustrations must use numbered sequence, uniform lettering and sizing, approved fonts, and logical file naming.

Research Letters

Highlights are mandatory and must be submitted in a separate file with 3 to 5 bullet points, and an AI declaration must be added at the end of the core manuscript file if generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used.
References Research Letters must not have more than 10 references. Vancouver. References with six or fewer authors must list all authors, and references with more than six authors must list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Research Letters must not include more than 1 figure or table. Figures, figure legends, and tables must be submitted as separate documents. Each illustration must have a caption, and the caption must include a brief title and a description.
