Human Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics is an international open access peer-reviewed journal focused on human vaccinology and immunotherapy. It publishes research on novel vaccines and immunotherapeutics, preclinical studies, clinical trials, disease mechanisms, licensed products, vaccine acceptance and hesitancy, policy, safety, surveillance, epidemiology, pharmaco-economics, and related public health topics. The journal operates single-anonymized peer review, is affiliated with the International Society for Vaccines and the Association for Cancer Immunotherapy, and has been fully open access since Volume 18 in 2022.

Abstract Research Articles must include an abstract. The abstract must be 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Research Articles must be no more than 5,000 words. Research Articles must be arranged in the order Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Patients/Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Funding Statement, Acknowledgments, Declaration of Interest Statement, Data Availability Statement, References, Appendices as appropriate, Tables with captions on individual pages, Figures, and Figure captions as a list. Research Articles must include 5 to 10 keywords and a statement disclosing whether and how generative AI was used in the research and manuscript preparation process, or state that generative AI was not used.
References In-text citations must use superscripted numbered references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first citation, use surname-first author names with initials without periods or spaces, list up to ten authors before using et al., and include a corresponding in-text citation for every entry.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be placed within the text or submitted as separate documents, but Research Articles must place tables with captions on individual pages and include figures followed by a separate list of figure captions in the manuscript order. Tables must be supplied as editable files and figures must be relevant and valuable to the work reported.
