Injury-international Journal Of The Care Of The Injured

Injury, founded in 1969, is the official journal of the British Trauma Society, the Australasian Trauma Society, and the Saudi Orthopaedic Association in Trauma. It aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas, techniques, and information among all members of the trauma team, publishing content on trauma systems and management; surgical procedures across all tissues; epidemiology; resuscitation; biomechanics; rehabilitation; anaesthesia; radiology; and the basic science of local and systemic responses to trauma and tissue healing. Regular features include original research papers, review articles, case reports, and ideas and innovations addressing novel solutions to surgical problems, along with book reviews and a calendar of worldwide meetings; letters commenting on previously published articles are encouraged.

Full Length Article

Title Page Upload a separate title page including the article title, full author names and affiliations, acknowledgements, any Declaration of Interest statement, and complete contact details for the corresponding author.
Abstract An abstract of up to 350 words is required, beginning on the second page. Structure it where appropriate, following the organization of the paper.
Key Points Provide 3–5 Highlights that concisely capture the key messages. Each highlight must be no more than 125 characters (without spaces) and presented on a separate, double‑spaced page.
Main Manuscript Headings The manuscript should generally follow IMRaD sections: Introduction; Materials (or Patients) and Methods; Results; Discussion; and Conclusions. The main text should start on the third page; for small studies well under 100 subjects, avoid reporting percentages.
Reference Format Use a numbered citation style with square brackets in the text and list references in order of appearance. Include DOIs where available and ensure accuracy for linking.
Figures Upload figures as separate high‑resolution files (e.g., EPS/PDF for vector, TIFF/JPEG for images) with captions provided separately. Number figures sequentially; color is free online but incurs charges for print.
Tables Place each table on a separate page, number them consecutively, avoid vertical lines, and cite each table in the text.
Additional Documents Include a Word ‘Ethics Statement’ for human/animal research (approvals/consent), a separate Declaration of Interest form, funding statement, and for RCTs the CONSORT checklist and flow diagram plus the trial registration number in the abstract. Supplementary files and a data availability statement are encouraged.
