Research Articles

Cover Letter Any third-party writing or editing assistance and any non-author who submits on behalf of the authors must be disclosed in the covering letter.
Abstract An unstructured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Research Articles may be up to 35 double-spaced manuscript pages in length. Research Articles must include Introduction with brief literature review, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions sections. Manuscript must include 4-5 keywords after the abstract and a 'Statements and Declarations' section at the end of the article, and it must disclose any AI use in the Acknowledgements or Methodology section.
References References must follow AMA 11th edition style. References must be cited in consecutive numerical order using superscript Arabic numerals, and reference list entries must list all authors unless there are more than 6, in which case the first 3 are followed by "et al.".
Figures & Tables Figures, charts, and tables created in Word should be included in the main text, while figures and other files created outside Word should be submitted separately with a placeholder note in the text. Figures must be numbered consecutively, and tables must be labeled as tables with a number, title, and header row and/or column and be editable within Word rather than submitted as images.

Review Papers

References References must follow AMA 11th edition style. References must be cited in consecutive numerical order using superscript Arabic numerals, and the reference list must list all authors unless there are more than 6, in which case the first 3 should be followed by 'et al.'.

Manuscript Brief Reports may be up to 10 manuscript pages. Manuscript must include clear, logically ordered headings and a section titled 'Statements and Declarations' at the end of the article after the Acknowledgements section and Author Contributions section if applicable. Manuscript must include 4-5 keywords after the abstract, an Acknowledgements section, a funding statement, an Author Contributions heading if author contribution information is required, a 'Statements and Declarations' section with each required subheading including 'Not applicable' where relevant, and AI use disclosures in the Acknowledgements or Methodology section.
References References must follow AMA 11th edition style. References must be cited in consecutive numerical order using superscript Arabic numerals, every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, and reference list entries must list all authors unless there are more than 6 authors, in which case the first 3 authors must be listed followed by 'et al.'.

Include 4-5 keywords after the abstract and a 'Statements and Declarations' section at the end of the article, with each required subheading included and 'Not applicable' stated under any nonapplicable heading.
References Letters unrelated to a specific article may include no more than 3 references, while letters about a recently published article or to be published concurrently may include no more than 5 references. References must be cited in consecutive numerical order using superscript Arabic numerals, all claims should be supported by references if appropriate, and letters addressing a recently published article must include that article in the reference list.
