International Journal of Bioprinting is an international journal covering the technology, science and clinical application of the broadly defined field of bioprinting. It covers all stages of the bioprinting process from concept creation to fabrication and beyond, including information technologies, materials and formulation, cell source and biotechnology, 3D bioprinting technologies, new design and fabrication paradigms, applied research on 3D-printed products, and associated social implications. The journal publishes original research articles, brief commentaries, and reviews related to bioprinting.

Original Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must state the manuscript title and type, briefly summarize the study background, question, methods, main findings and significance, explain the journal fit, confirm all authors approved the manuscript, disclose conflicts of interest, and include Special Issue or conference details when applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be unstructured and no more than 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must be at least 5000 words. The main text must include Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. The manuscript must include 3 to 8 keywords and disclose any use of AI and AI-assisted technologies.
References The manuscript should include approximately 40 references. References must follow AMA style. References must be numbered in order of appearance using superscript Arabic numerals, not alphabetized, use PubMed journal abbreviations, and list up to 6 authors or editors before adding the first 3 followed by et al. if there are more than 6.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be cited in numeric order and placed after the paragraph where they are first cited. Figure captions must appear below figures, table captions must appear above tables, and tables must be provided in editable DOC or DOCX format rather than as pictures.

Review

The cover letter must include the manuscript title and type, a brief background, the research question and rationale, what was done, the main findings and their significance, why the manuscript fits the journal and interests readers, confirmation that all authors approved the manuscript, and any required disclosures about special issues, conference presentation, and conflicts of interest.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be unstructured and no more than 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Review manuscripts must be no less than 5000 words. Review manuscripts should begin with an Introduction, include several middle sections with unfixed titles, and end with a Conclusion. The manuscript must include 3 to 8 keywords and disclose any use of AI and AI-assisted technologies.
References Review manuscripts should include approximately 70 references. References must follow AMA style. References must be numbered in order of appearance, cited with superscript Arabic numerals, not alphabetized, use PubMed journal abbreviations, and list up to 6 authors or editors before using the first 3 followed by et al. when there are more than 6.

Case Report

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be unstructured and no more than 150 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must be 1000-1500 words. The main text must contain Introduction, Case presentation, Discussion, and Conclusion sections. The manuscript must include 3-8 keywords and disclose any use of AI and AI-assisted technologies.
References The manuscript should include approximately 15 references. References must follow AMA style. References must be numbered in order of appearance using superscript Arabic numerals, not alphabetized, and list up to 6 authors or editors, or the first 3 followed by "et al." if there are more than 6.
