Original Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must briefly summarize the submitted work including a brief description of the study, confirm that it reports an original novel study, confirm approval by all authors, and disclose any competing interests.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract should usually be 150-300 words. The abstract must be continuous and unstructured. The abstract must not contain subsections such as Objectives, Methods, Results or Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Research Articles must contain the sections Abstract, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, Funding, Availability of data and materials, Authors' contributions, Ethics approval and consent to participate, Patient consent for publication, Competing interests, References, Figure legends and Tables, and the Materials and methods section must contain a Statistical analysis subsection. The title page must include 5-10 key words, a Use of artificial intelligence tools section must be included only when AI tools are used, and the manuscript must include the declaration sections before the references even if some state Not applicable.
References References must be numbered consecutively in order of appearance, cited in the text using numbers in parentheses, use NLM journal title abbreviations, include inclusive page numbers, and omit non-English references and unpublished abstracts or manuscripts from the reference list.
Figures & Tables Figure legends must be included in the text document separate from the figure files, and each table must be submitted in a separate Word file. Tables must be labelled with Roman numerals, and significance indicators and error bars in graphs and tables must be clearly defined in the figure or table legends.

Review Articles

Manuscript The abstract must be followed immediately by a numbered Contents section summarizing the main headings of the review, and the article must include Acknowledgements, Funding, Availability of data and materials, Authors' contributions, Ethics approval and consent to participate, Patient consent for publication, Competing interests, References, Figure legends, and Tables. The title page must include 5-10 key words, a Use of artificial intelligence tools section must be included only when AI tools are used, and the data availability statement must read 'Not applicable' if the manuscript contains no data generated by the authors.
References References must be numbered consecutively in order of appearance in the text and cited using numbers in parentheses.
Figures & Tables Figure legends must be included in the text document separate from the figure files, and each table must be submitted in a separate Word file. Tables must be labeled with Roman numerals and include a short title immediately before each table.
