Original Articles

Cover Letter A covering letter is required as part of the Title Page/First Page File. The covering letter must be signed by all contributors and include previous publication or presentation details, source of funding, conflict of interest disclosures, and a statement that all authors approved the manuscript and believe it represents honest work.
Abstract An abstract is required.
Manuscript Original Articles must be up to 3000 words excluding abstract, references, and tables. Original Articles must be divided into Abstract, Key-words, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, and Figure legends. Original Articles must include three or more keywords, and any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgments section with the specific tool and purpose stated.
References Original Articles should include about 30 references. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention and cited as Arabic numerals in superscript within square brackets after punctuation marks.
Figures & Tables Tables with their legends must be placed at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be uploaded separately rather than incorporated in the Blinded Article file. Tables with more than 10 columns and 25 rows are not acceptable.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A covering letter signed by all contributors must be submitted. The covering letter must mention previous publication or presentations, the source of funding, and conflicts of interest.
Abstract An abstract is required for Review Articles. The abstract must be unstructured and limited to 500 words. The abstract must be unstructured. The abstract must summarize the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data.
Manuscript The manuscript must be up to 3000 words excluding tables, references, and abstract. The manuscript must include a section describing the methods used for locating, selecting, extracting, and synthesizing data. Review Articles should be accompanied by a short summary of the work done by the contributor or contributors in the field of review, and the manuscript must include three or more keywords plus disclosure of any generative AI tool used and how it was used in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
References Review Articles may have about 90 references. References must be numbered consecutively in the order of first mention and cited as Arabic numerals in superscript within square brackets after punctuation marks, with journal titles abbreviated according to Index Medicus style.
Figures & Tables Tables must be provided at the end of the text after the references, figures must be uploaded as separate files, and figure legends must be included at the end of the article file.

Case Reports

References References may include up to 10 entries. References must be numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned, cited in superscript Arabic numerals within square brackets after punctuation, and journal titles should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus style.
Figures & Tables Tables must be provided at the end of the text after the references, figure legends must be included at the end of the article file, and images must be submitted as separate files rather than incorporated in the article file. Tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and figures must be numbered consecutively according to first citation in the text.

Clinical Study

Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions and include design, population, sample size, interventions, main outcome measures, statistical significance, and clinical trial registration number when applicable.
Manuscript The manuscript must clearly state the study design and setting, specify inclusion and exclusion criteria, participant recruitment, interventions or exposures, outcome measures, and include a Discussion and Conclusion followed by Outcomes of the Study, Rationale of the Study, and Limitations of the Study. Provide three or more keywords, define abbreviations at first mention with a List of Abbreviations after the abstract if numerous, include AI tool disclosures in the Methods or Acknowledgments when used, and include conflicts of interest, funding, author contribution, and acknowledgments statements.
References References may not exceed 45. References must use Vancouver style with NLM journal abbreviations. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in superscript Arabic numerals in square brackets after punctuation, include DOIs for all references, and the references section must appear last.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included at the end of the text after the references, while figures must be uploaded separately and each figure must be cited in the text with a descriptive caption. Tables must be self-contained and numbered consecutively, and figure legends must be included at the end of the article file.
