Food Policy is a multidisciplinary journal publishing original research and novel evidence on the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of policies for the food sector in developing, transition, and advanced economies. It focuses on the economic and social aspects of food policy, prioritizes empirical studies informing international food policy debates, and considers contributions from the social sciences and selected other disciplines when they make a clear policy contribution. Relevant topics include food production, trade, marketing, consumption, nutrition, health, food security, food safety, technological and institutional innovation, and environmental sustainability.

Abstract A concise and factual abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract should be unstructured.
Manuscript A typical article is around 6,000–10,000 words including abstract, end notes, tables, references, and appendices. Manuscript should include an introduction with adequate food policy background and current knowledge and a specific section addressing policy implications, and review articles should demonstrate rigour in the search and review process while addressing critically important areas and adding substantial value to the literature. The manuscript requires 1 to 7 English keywords, submission of 3 to 5 highlights as a separate editable file, and an AI declaration section before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References References may be in any consistent style at submission, with in-text citations using author name and year. Reference list should be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if needed, with same-year works by the same author distinguished as a, b, c, and journal names abbreviated according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables The anonymized manuscript should contain references and tables, tables should be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end, and figures must be supplied as separate files.
