Neurobiology of Aging publishes studies in behavior, biochemistry, cell biology, endocrinology, molecular biology, morphology, neurology, neuropathology, pharmacology, physiology, and protein chemistry with primary emphasis on mechanisms of nervous system changes with age or diseases associated with age. It publishes reviews and primary research articles, occasionally with open peer commentary, and also accepts Letters to the Editor, brief communications, and rapid communications for highly time-sensitive material.

Abstract Abstract is required and must be concise, factual, and able to stand alone. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections, with the abstract excluded from section numbering. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, 3 to 5 article highlights submitted as a separate editable file, CRediT author contribution acknowledgements, and an AI disclosure statement before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References References must use an author-date style. References must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically, use first author et al. in text for three or more authors, list the first 6 authors followed by et al. for works with more than 6 authors, and abbreviate journal names according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables Tables must be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article, while figures and other artwork must be supplied as separate files. Tables must be editable text with consecutive numbering and captions, and figures must be cited in the text, numbered in order, submitted as separate files, and accompanied by captions that explain symbols or abbreviations.
