Cover Letter Cover letter is required only to disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or submission made on behalf of the authors by someone not listed as an author. Cover letter must state any third-party writing or editing assistance and whether the submission was made on behalf of the authors by someone not listed as an author.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must include clearly defined sections with clear heading levels and an unstructured abstract placed between the title and main body. Manuscript must include at least 5 keywords after the abstract and a 'Statements and Declarations' section at the end of the article with each required subheading, using 'Not applicable' where relevant.
References References and citations must follow AMA style. References must be cited in consecutive numerical order using superscript Arabic numerals, and the reference list must list all authors unless there are more than 6, in which case the first 3 are followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Figures, charts, and tables created in Word must be included in the main text, while figures and other files created outside Word must be submitted separately with a placeholder note in the text. Figures must be numbered consecutively and include a number and title, while tables must be editable text in Word with a number and title and must not be submitted as images.
