International Psychogeriatrics is a multidisciplinary peer reviewed journal in psychogeriatrics that publishes original research papers on the mental health of older people worldwide. It also features commentaries, original research articles, scholarly literature reviews, letters to the editor, and book reviews, and is circulated to members of the International Psychogeriatric Association.

Regular Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required and must be 250 words. Abstract must be 250 words.
Manuscript Main body text must not exceed 5,000 words, excluding the abstract, references, tables, and figures. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. Manuscript must include 5 to 8 keywords in English, a separate acknowledgements section directly before the references, a declaration of generative AI use in a new section before the references when applicable, and the declarations tool must be completed.
References References may total up to 60. References must be cited by number in square brackets. Reference list entries must be numbered in the order cited in the text, list the first 6 authors followed by 'et al.' when there are more than 6 authors, and use LTWA journal abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Tables should be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article, and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. Tables must be submitted as editable text rather than images and all tables and figures must be cited, numbered consecutively, and accompanied by captions.

Manuscript must include 5 to 8 keywords in English and a declaration of generative AI use in a section placed before the references list if such tools were used in manuscript preparation.
References Reference list must contain no more than 10 references. References must be cited by number in square brackets and listed in the reference list in the order of first appearance, with more than 6 authors shortened to the first 6 followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Brief Reports may include no more than two figures or tables in total. Tables should be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article, and figures must be supplied as separate files.
