Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must declare that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere, state any redundant or duplicate content, disclose potential conflicts of interest, specify the manuscript type, and provide complete corresponding author contact information.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Background and Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Main text is highly recommended not to exceed 4000 words excluding the abstract, tables, figure legends, and references. Main text must use the subheadings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include an Author Contributions section and provide three to six MeSH keywords at the end of the abstract page.
References References must be cited as superscript unparenthesized numbers in the text and listed in numerical order at the end, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first six followed by "et al." for seven or more authors.
Figures & Tables A combined total of figures and tables must not exceed seven. Tables and figure legends must appear in the manuscript file, while figures must be uploaded as separate files and not embedded in the manuscript.

Reviews

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must specify the manuscript type, provide the corresponding author's complete contact information, disclose potential conflicts of interest, and state that the manuscript has not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere except as an abstract and whether it contains any redundant or duplicate material.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract should be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must include an Abstract, main text, references, tables, and figure legends. Three to six MeSH keywords must be provided at the end of the abstract page, an Author Contributions section is required in the manuscript, and accepted reviews must include a graphical abstract.
References References must be cited with superscript unparenthesized numbers and listed in numerical order, with all authors named for six or fewer authors and the first six followed by et al. for seven or more.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded in the manuscript, while figure legends must appear on a separate page at the end of the manuscript and each table with its title and legend must appear on a separate page. Accepted reviews must include a graphical abstract submitted as a jpg, tiff, or pdf file.

Letters To The Editor

Cover Letter Cover letter is required and must specify the manuscript type and include complete contact information for the corresponding author. Cover letter must declare that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere, state any redundant or duplicate content, and disclose potential conflicts of interest.
Abstract Abstract is not required for Letters To The Editor.
Manuscript Letters To The Editor must be no longer than 750 words including the title and excluding references, tables, and figure legends. Letters To The Editor should not use subheadings.
References Letters To The Editor may include up to ten references. References must be cited in the text as superscript unparenthesized numbers and listed at the end in numerical order, with all authors listed for six or fewer authors and the first six followed by et al. for seven or more authors.
Figures & Tables Letters To The Editor may include only one figure or table. Figures must be submitted as separate files and not embedded in the manuscript, and figure legends must appear on a separate page at the end of the manuscript file.
