Original Research

Cover Letter Original Research submissions must include a covering letter. Cover letter must provide the corresponding author’s full contact details, state that the work is original and not under simultaneous submission, confirm all authors have read and approved the manuscript and meet ICMJE conditions, identify the body granting ethical approval, disclose financial or other declarable relationships or explicitly state none, and mention any prior abstract, poster, or oral presentation.
Abstract Original Research articles must include a structured abstract on the second page. Abstract must be no more than 200 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Research design and methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Body of the article must include the sections Introduction, Patients and methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Manuscript must include 4–6 keywords in alphabetical order, an Author contributions section, an Acknowledgements section, and an AI-use acknowledgement where applicable.
References References must use NLM style. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, cited in square brackets, and listed in numerical order at the end of the article.
Figures & Tables A maximum of five figures and five tables is permitted. Tables must be supplied as editable files.
