Journal of Prosthodontic Research (JPR) is published four times annually in January, April, July, and October under the supervision of the JPR Editorial Committee of the Japan Prosthodontic Society, which selects submitted materials for publication. It covers oral and occlusal rehabilitation, fixed and removable prosthodontics, oral implantology, and applied oral biology and physiology, with an emphasis on evidence-based clinical dentistry, original research findings, technical appraisals, critical reviews, case reports, commentaries, and letters to the editor.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required with the submission. The cover letter must state the reason for naming multiple corresponding authors if more than one corresponding author is listed.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for Original Articles. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 10 printed pages. The manuscript file must be ordered as Title, Abstract, Bullet points for Summary Box, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest statement, References, Tables, and Figure legends. Original Articles must include summary box bullet points for 'What is already known' and 'What this study adds'.
References References must follow Vancouver style. References must be cited by number in square brackets, listed in numerical order of appearance, and for works with more than six authors only the first six should be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables must be contained in the manuscript as editable files. Each figure and table must be cited in the text.

Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis

Cover Letter A cover letter must be included with the submission. The cover letter must justify any use of multiple corresponding authors.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract headings must be Purpose, Study selection, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The article must not exceed 8 printed pages. The manuscript file must be ordered as Title, Abstract, Bullet points for Summary Box, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest statement, References, Tables, and Figure legends. The manuscript must include summary box bullet points for "What is already known" and "What this review adds," with each bullet point less than 350 characters, as well as acknowledgements, a conflict of interest statement, and funding disclosures at the end of the text.
References References must follow Vancouver style. Citations must use numbered square brackets, the reference list must be numbered in order of appearance, and references with more than six authors must list the first six followed by "et al.".
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, whereas tables must be provided as editable files within the manuscript. Each figure and table must be cited in the text, and each figure must include a separate title and explanatory legend.

The manuscript order must be Title, Abstract, Bullet points for Summary Box, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Conflict of interest statement, References, Tables, and Figure legends. Case Reports must include summary box bullet points for “What is already known” and “What this report adds,” and each bullet point must be less than 350 characters.
References References must use the Vancouver style. References must be cited by number in square brackets, listed in the order of appearance, and for works with more than six authors the first six authors must be followed by “et al.”.

Letter To The Editor

Abstract Abstract is not permitted.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 1,000 words or 2 printed pages. Manuscript must begin with "Dear Editor" and must not include section headings. The manuscript must include three to five keywords, summary box bullet points, a conflict of interest statement at the end of the text, and declarations of funding and sponsor roles in the acknowledgments.
References References must not exceed 10. References must use Vancouver style. References must be cited by number in square brackets, listed in the order of appearance, and for works with more than six authors only the first six authors should be listed followed by "et al.".
Figures & Tables A maximum of 2 figures or tables is permitted. Figures must be supplied as separate files, and tables must be provided as editable files within the manuscript. Each figure and table must be cited in the text.

References References must use Vancouver style. References must be cited by number in square brackets and listed in numerical order of appearance, with the first six authors named followed by "et al." when there are more than six authors.
