Research Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A single-paragraph abstract is required for Research Articles. The abstract must be fewer than 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph.
Manuscript Research Articles must include Introduction, Patients and Methods or Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. Manuscripts must include 5 to 10 keywords, a disclosure statement under the subheading “Disclosure of interest,” and figure legends.
References Research Articles must include no more than 85 references. References may be in any consistent scholarly citation style or format. Bibliographic entries must include author name(s), source title, article or chapter title, year, volume and issue where appropriate, page numbers, and a corresponding in-text citation.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be placed within the text or submitted as separate documents. Tables must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and include descriptive titles and legends.

Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 words.
Manuscript The opening paragraph must explain the review’s general thrust and timeliness, and the concluding paragraph must discuss future developments or problems rather than summarize the article. The manuscript must include 5–10 keywords for indexing purposes.
References Reviews must cite no more than 150 references. References may be in any style or format if a consistent scholarly citation format is used. Bibliographic entries must include the author name(s), article or chapter title, journal or book title, year, volume and issue where appropriate, page numbers, and a corresponding in-text citation.
