Mechanisms of Ageing and Development

Mechanisms of Ageing and Development is a multidisciplinary journal aimed at revealing the molecular, biochemical and biological mechanisms that underlie the processes of ageing and development in various species as well as age-associated diseases. Emphasis is placed on studies addressing underlying mechanisms, including macromolecular damage and cytotoxicity, genetic programs, epigenetics and genetic instability, mitochondrial function, metabolic alterations, and innovative anti-aging approaches. The journal publishes original research, review and mini-review articles and is the official journal of the European Society of Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-aging Medicine.

Research Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter is required and should explain how the research is linked with previously published work. The cover letter should explain how the research is linked with previously published work.
Abstract Research Papers must include a summary. The summary must be 100–200 words. The summary format is not explicitly stated as structured or unstructured.
Manuscript Research Papers are usually subdivided into sections such as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion. The submission must include 1 to 7 keywords in English, 3 to 5 highlights in a separate editable file, a declaration of generative AI use in a section before the references if applicable, and acknowledgements in a separate section directly before the references.
References Citations in the text must use author name and year. References may be in any consistent style at submission and must be listed alphabetically, then chronologically if needed, with letters added for same-author same-year items.
Figures & Tables Tables must be included as editable text and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. Tables must be cited, numbered consecutively, and include captions, and figures must be cited, numbered in sequence, and include captions explaining symbols and abbreviations.
