Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required only if the submitting author lacks an institutional email address. The cover letter must be on institutional headed paper and explain why an institutional email address could not be used.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Original Articles must not exceed 5000 words. The manuscript must include a data availability statement, a disclosure statement, and a Declarations section before the reference list containing Funding, Competing Interests, and Author Contributions statements, and any use of a large language model must be documented in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References Original Articles are limited to 45 references. Citations must be numbered in square brackets in the text and the reference list must be numbered consecutively and include only cited works that have been published or accepted for publication.
Figures & Tables Original Articles are limited to a combined total of 6 figures and tables. Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, but large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order in the text, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for Review Articles. The cover letter must include a summary of the authors' publication history on the topic, focusing on original research articles and listing their full titles at minimum.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Review Articles must not exceed 10000 words. The manuscript must include a disclosure statement, a statement of responsibility specifying every author's contribution, a statement identifying who had the idea for the article, who performed the literature search and data analysis, who drafted and/or critically revised the work, and a Declarations section before the reference list including Funding, Conflicts of interest/competing interests, and Authors' contribution statements.
References Review Articles are limited to 100 references. References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets and listed consecutively as a numbered reference list containing only cited works published or accepted for publication, with full DOI links included where available.
Figures & Tables Review Articles are limited to 10 figures. Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, but large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files.
