Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be a single paragraph.
Manuscript Manuscript must contain a title, authors’ affiliation, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, bibliography, figures with legends, and tables, with results and discussion allowed to be combined. The manuscript must include authors’ roles in a titled section immediately after the discussion, a competing interest statement, alt text directly under each relevant figure legend preceded by 'Alt text:', and raw full gel or blot images for all blot and gel figure data.

Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract should be approximately 300 words. The abstract must be unstructured with no subheadings.
Manuscript Reviews are typically 3000 words with a maximum of 5000 words. The review body text should use sub-headings, and the final paragraphs must summarise the themes and content of the review including implications for clinical translation, possible explanations, and questions for future research. Up to ten specific and relevant key words must be supplied, and the manuscript must include authors' contributions, funding information, and a conflict of interest statement.
References References must be cited in the text by author and date. References must be listed alphabetically, text citations should name both authors for two-author works or the first author followed by et al. for works with more than two authors, and up to 10 authors must be listed in each reference before using et al.
