Neuroepidemiology is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to descriptive, analytical, and experimental studies in the epidemiology of neurological diseases. It covers research on the etiology, determinants, distribution, management, and prevention of diseases of the nervous system and accepts original research articles, reviews, systematic reviews, letters, and methods papers such as protocols.

Research Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must describe the knowledge gap addressed, explain the research implications and significance, show fit with the journal scope, emphasize the manuscript’s unique contribution, and name any special issue or article collection if applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion and must not include bibliographic references or references to figures or tables.
Manuscript Research Articles are typically 5000 words in length. Manuscript must include the sections Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include 3–5 keywords and a statements section before the references containing Statement of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Statement, Funding Sources, Author Contributions, and Data Availability Statement, and any use of generative AI must be declared in the Methods or Acknowledgements.
References References must be cited sequentially in the text using Arabic numerals in square brackets and listed numerically in citation order with up to 6 authors before 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Research Articles typically include 4 to 8 tables and figures. Tables and figures must be submitted as separate files, with one file per figure, while figure legends must appear at the end of the manuscript text. Tables must be editable Word files rather than images, and table headers must be included in the table file.

Review Article

Manuscript must include a statements section before the references, declare any generative AI use in the Methods or Acknowledgements, and include 3–5 keywords highlighting the most important points of the paper.
References References must be cited sequentially using Arabic numerals in square brackets. Reference list must include only cited works, be ordered numerically by citation, list up to 6 authors before using et al., and use surnames followed by initials.
Figures & Tables Review Articles typically include 4 to 8 tables and figures. Tables and figures must be submitted as separate files, with figure legends included at the end of the manuscript text. Tables must be editable Word files rather than images, and each figure must be uploaded as a separate file containing all panels.
