Original Investigation

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Original Investigations must include a 250-word abstract. Abstract must be 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Investigations must not exceed 4,000 words of text. Main manuscript must include Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, and References. Manuscript must include an implications section, a funding section specifying sources of funding for all authors for the work represented in the manuscript, a Declaration of Interests section, and a declaration that the authors had full access to all study data and take responsibility for the integrity of the data and the accuracy of the data analysis, and any use of AI tools must be clearly declared.
References Original Investigation articles must not exceed 50 references. References must conform to American Medical Association (AMA) style. Journal titles must be abbreviated, and for references with more than six authors, list the first three authors followed by et al.
Figures & Tables Original Investigations may include no more than 6 figures and tables combined. Initial submission can include figures and text in one file, but separate Main Document and Figures files must be uploaded for submission, and tables must be included at the end of the main manuscript. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively by appearance and each must have a legend.

Cover Letter A brief cover letter is required for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 submissions.
