Manuscripts

Cover Letter Cover letters are required for all new or transferred submissions. The cover letter must justify deletion of any required abstract section.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured in seven required sections and submitted on a separate page in the manuscript file. Abstract must include Objective or Purpose, Design, Subjects/Participants/Controls, Methods/Intervention/Testing, Main Outcome Measures, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Discussion must be the final section of the manuscript, and a separate conclusion section must not be included. The manuscript submission must include a separate précis of 35 words or fewer summarizing the main finding or outcome in complete unbulleted sentences without duplicating the abstract conclusion, the title page must include 3 to 5 key words, and any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in writing must be declared in a section placed before the references.
References The manuscript file must contain no more than 50 references. References must be in AMA style. References must be cited in the text using consecutive superscript Arabic numerals in the order of appearance.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must not be embedded in the manuscript file and must be submitted as separate files. Figure legends must be submitted separately from figure files, and tables must be built in Microsoft Word with one table per file or combined in a single Word file.
