Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia is the official, peer-reviewed open-access journal of the Asian Federation of Osteoporosis Societies (AFOS). The journal publishes research on osteoporosis, fracture, sarcopenia, frailty, metabolic bone diseases, mineral metabolism, and the biology, physiology, and pathology of bone and muscle, with a specific focus on Asian genetic, ethnic, social, and environmental differences while welcoming appropriate submissions from around the world.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must briefly outline the major findings and their potential significance in bone and muscle research and state any conflicts of interest for all listed authors.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words or fewer. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Body text must be about 5,000 words maximum excluding the abstract, references, figures, and tables, and the manuscript is usually limited to 10 printed pages. Manuscript must be organized into Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conflicts of interest, Acknowledgments, and References. Include a maximum of 6 keywords after the abstract and, if generative AI tools were used in manuscript preparation, add a declaration statement at the end of the manuscript before the references list.
References References are usually limited to 45. References must use Vancouver style. Number references in order of appearance, use Arabic numerals in square brackets for in-text citations, and list the first 6 authors followed by 'et al.' when a reference has more than 6 authors.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables are usually limited to a combined total of 6. Submit each illustration as a separate file, and tables can be placed on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Provide captions to illustrations separately and submit tables as editable text rather than images.

Submit each illustration as a separate file, provide captions to illustrations separately, and tables can be placed on separate pages at the end of the manuscript. Number illustrations and tables according to their sequence in the text, submit tables as editable text rather than images, and use tables sparingly to avoid duplicating results described elsewhere.
