Psychophysiology is a journal published on behalf of the Society for Psychophysiological Research that focuses on the dissemination of psychophysiological science and advances in human neuroscience. It welcomes theoretical, empirical, and methodological submissions in cognitive, affective, clinical and social neuroscience, psychopathology and psychiatry, health science and behavioral medicine, and biomedical engineering.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include communications to the Editor-in-Chief.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be 300 words or less.
Manuscript Original Articles reporting experimental studies must be 15,000 words or less excluding references. The manuscript must include the required sections, including an abstract, introduction, method, results, and conclusions. The manuscript must include an impact statement of approximately 50 to 75 words in a single paragraph, provide up to six keywords with at least one selected from the journal’s Methods list, include a CRediT statement, and declare any AI-generated content tools used in the Methods section.
References References may be submitted in any style or format if used consistently throughout the manuscript. References should consistently include author name or names, journal or book title, year, volume and issue or chapter, pagination, and article title where required.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be included within the main text document or submitted as separate files. Figures and tables must have legends.
