Toxicology Letters is the official journal of EUROTOX and is affiliated with the Austrian Society of Toxicology. It is an international multidisciplinary journal focused on the rapid publication of novel toxicology research, especially mechanisms of mammalian toxicity, and also publishes reviews, mini-reviews, editorials, commentaries, and contemporary issues in toxicology.

Short Reports

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A concise, factual abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract should be unstructured and able to stand alone.
Manuscript Short Reports must not exceed 3500 words including references, tables, and figure legends. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. Provide 1 to 7 keywords and include a declaration of generative AI use in a new section before the references list if such tools were used.
References References must use an author-date citation style. Reference list should be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary, with journal names abbreviated according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables A combined maximum of 4 figures and tables is allowed. Tables must be submitted as editable text and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. All tables and figures must be cited in the text, numbered according to their order of appearance, and provided with captions.

Manuscript Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections, and the abstract must not be included within the section numbering. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, a declaration of generative AI use in a new section before the references if applicable, and acknowledgements in a separate section directly before the reference list.
References Text citations must use author names and year of publication. The reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary, with references including core bibliographic details and journal names abbreviated according to LTWA.
Figures & Tables Tables must be submitted as editable text, while figures, images, diagrams and other artwork must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. All tables and figures must be cited in the text, numbered in order of appearance, and accompanied by captions.

Provide 1 to 7 English keywords, include a declaration of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation in a new section before the references if applicable, and provide highlights as a separate editable Word file at the final files stage consisting of 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each.
References Citations in the text must use author name and year. References may be in any consistent style but must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary.
Figures & Tables Figures and other artwork must be uploaded as separate files, while tables must be submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered according to their order of appearance, and accompanied by captions.

The manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords, a declaration of generative AI use in a new section before the references if applicable, and highlights are not required until the final files stage.
References Citations in the text should use author-name-and-year style. The reference list should be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary.
