Review

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required for Review articles. Review abstracts must be 100 to 120 words.
Manuscript Review main text must not exceed 3500 words, excluding boxes, tables, figure legends, abstract, and references. Review articles must begin with a one- or two-paragraph introduction under a short descriptive heading other than "Introduction" and end with a section titled "Concluding Remarks" or "Concluding Remarks and Future Perspectives." Review articles must include Highlights with 3 to 5 bullet points and a maximum of 900 characters, an Outstanding Questions Box of up to 2000 characters, a declaration of interests section, and if applicable a "Declaration of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process" section; they should also include a Glossary of up to 450 words.
References Review articles must include no more than 100 references. References must be numbered in square brackets in order of citation. References must be listed in citation order rather than alphabetically, while unpublished work and websites must be cited in the main text in parentheses and not included in the reference list.
Figures & Tables Review articles may contain up to 6 additional elements total across figures, tables, and text boxes, may include no more than 4 text boxes, and may include either one Key Figure or one Key Table but not both. Review figures must be uploaded as separate files and not embedded in the main text document, whereas Review tables must be created in Word and submitted within the main document rather than as separate files. Review figure legends must have a short explanatory title and be no more than 250 words, and Review tables must have a single-sentence title with no legend and must not be inserted as images.
